MUSIC THERAPY PRESENTATION
The University of Human Unity in collaboration with Svaram Musical Instruments is happy to announce the following presentation for
Sat.20.March 5-6.30pm, Unity Pavilion :

For the therapist, sound as music is a means to an end - an instrument for creating the sensation of hearing, a transmission of controlled energy that is perceived not only by the ear, processed by the brain and resonates in the body as a symbol of movement and possible change.
RAJAM SHANKAR, born 1952, is a graduate in Carnatic Music from the Telugu University, Hyderabad and completed her Postgraduate program Sangeeta Alankara. She is collaborating with medical and paramedical professionals researching the employment of Indian Classical Music in Music Therapy and their work has shown perceivable positive results in treating children and adult clients with Autism, Hyperactivity, Slow Learning and related Neurological Disabilities.
Therapists from other disciplines, both Indian and Overseas have shown keen interest in her group and client specific therapeutic intervention methodology and we are happy to have with her the second event on Music Therapy in Auroville. She will be also presenting on Sunday, 21.,4.30 to the NAMAH Integral Health Study Group in Pondicherry.
